Had one killed out of my boat on Lake Champlain on the NY side about 10 years ago. It was an escapee from someone as it had a small metal numbered tag in one of the wings.

Saw them 2 weekends ago, sailed up from Salem and spent the night on one of the town moorings. They were swimming all around the boat, pretty neat.

It sounds like the gun is really giving you problems only when it is cold? correct? If it has been working fine in the past and is just now acting up it sure sounds like it needs a thorough cleaning. On the M1/SBE you don't need a gunsmith to clean it, just some basic tools like Q-tips, old...

Another big thumbs up for hydro-turf, once you try it you will not use anything else. Very light weight, will not absorb water, easy to cut, cleans up easy....only drawback is price, but you can go the "B" grade seconds for half the price.

Aaron, it folds up flat with the transom. It was PW's (at MMT) design and is slick as can be, welded right to the transom. I can put all my weight on it and no problem.
