Yea,Im probably going to try to get and 18 or 20' deep v for next season.

A mile at the most, not really rough water maybe 2-3 footers at the most. The lake is 1000 yds wide and is about 10 miles long and is pretty much a lake that is one straight line. About 5 miles of it is heavy swamp though.

How does it handle in chop? I dont know much about layouts and would like to know what would happen in a 1ft waves. Would it be ok or whats the max its been in?

wow,thanks for all that info. I'm gonna try some tests for setting them out this summer on a local lake. I have buffies,and bluebills right now and a bunch of puddlers. Do you reccomend putting a confidence decoy on my layout or not or just put a bluebill with no keel on it?
