    NDR- Fishing Rod Guide Replacement

Thanks guys! This gives me the confidence to make repairs to the rods I have. I'll order a kit and post results when I'm done. I've got a lot of wood laying around the shed, might make a rack to hold the blanks while I spin them. My daughter can help with wrapping & tension.

    NDR- Fishing Rod Guide Replacement

Anyone here ever replace a guide (not tip) on a fishing rod? How hard is it? I know have three old rods that I love but each have a broken guide. Thinking about spending $20 to get a guide kit off Amazon, they come with guides, thread and glue. Thanks!

    Just one fish

Rick, we saw the same thing in Mobile: In the fall the big blue cats would follow the white shrimp as they moved out of marshes, into the rivers and out to the bay. Nothing like floating a live shrimp for speckled trout when a 15# blue cat grabs it runs downstream, with the tide! Drag...

    Just one fish

A catfish and a goose in a root wad beat my hand. No fishing for me, just 2 mottled ducks walking around in the fast food parking lot this morning.

Pricing advice for a small old boat

Would love to see a photo of that hull! Price: Boat prices vary by region, but I'm going to guess well under $1000.00, probably around $500.00. Check the local FB Marketplace or Craigslist to get a better idea.

    You can, you cannot

Dry age breast fillets from redheads and cans in the fridge for 5 days, then brine for 8 hours and grill like steak (med. rare). Good eats. Just as good as any gadwall or pintail I shot. Mergies were the only divers I has a hard time with. I stopped shooting them.

    NDR-The Fish Were Biting

Very nice Dave! I really miss trout fishing the small streams back up in northeast PA. Got back out Saturday, tested out my new trolling motor/battery setup. Doesnt use much power even at high, went about 3 miles, mostly on high and only used 1/5th of my battery reserve. But sure is slow, 3.5...

    NDR-The Fish Were Biting

Come down in late fall/winter and go out on this boat. Take a couple of dozen fiddler crabs and you'll most likely catch more than one! I was using live shrimp landed 4 hogs but only one keeper.
