Melted Fusible Link Nissan 89 4x4

One of the greens goes to the computer. The other goes to the ignition switch and from there to the ignition system and also to the fuse box then on to various things that all work. I don't know which of these is the melted one. My answer will likely come from someone with specific experience...

Melted Fusible Link Nissan 89 4x4

While troubleshooting my 1989 KC 4x4 6cyl which would not start, I found the fusible link to have one melted green wire. The not starting problem was solved with a new starter. I also replaced the fusible link. This was a couple of weeks ago. I noticed today that the fusible link had fried...

    Devlin bluebill build thread.

Maybe something more ridgid. You could temporarily screw on an edge of some sort. The other thing to consider is "wedges". Likely they were in previous discussions too. Now would be the time to do it as it is, at least psychologically, harder to go back and do it after you are "finished"...

Before you finish the bottom epoxy, make the stern/hull line sharp instead of rounded. Use fiber reinforced epoxy for a strong edge. This might diminish the porpoising that is often seen in this build.

    Missing Three Quarts of Oil

Well, upon closer inspection, the back of the block below the head gasket, but not above it, is oily. That is probably why it doesn't drip when parked and likely it cooks off while driving. Also, now that it has been mentioned, the coolant is slowly going somewhere too. I smell a major repair...

    Missing Three Quarts of Oil

I went to the neighborhood grocery and on the way back I noticed the oil gauge swinging widely especially when turning. Back home, I checked the oil and saw none on the dipstick. I added one, then two quarts to get a show on the dip stick and then another quart to get it above the add line...

Here is the short case with the leather attached to the top and the top placed over the dowels; essentially, it is finished. Here is how the long and short sections fit into my "man grotto": This is the process of getting the barrel racks at the right height and level. The shorter...

Here is work in progress on the gun barrel racks: Those are half inch diameter rare earth magnets with a countersunk hole in the middle. I thought that I had a long enough piece of leather that I could line the barrel slots with it, but then thought better of it on the chance that...

Perhaps you've noticed the lack of finish on the gun butt cutout part. This is because I didn't want a wooden top than might get marred or worse, mar my guns. So, I decided to cover the top with something soft. Having considered felt (not durable enough), cloth (not elegant enough) and vinyl...

The first case dowels locations were drilled before assembly such that I could drill both pieces simultaneously for perfect alignment. I forgot to do the same with the second case so I had to locate the dowel holes differently by using these thingys: Here is the second, longer...

Dry fit Gluing and clamping: The finished case: The top part with the gun butt cut outs is attached to the case with dowels so that it can be removed. The reason for this will become apparent directly. The biscuit cuts in the end of the end piece are...

Here are the parts with the first coat of polyurethane drying: Here is a shot of the gun barrel supports: The holes in the barrel cutouts are for magnets. I used a lot of brain effort to come up with the demensions of this project to allow maximum gun storage while...

The plan is scalable so that I can make a second longer unit to fit against the adjacent wall. I used pine to save money and to make the mistakes not so painful. I was a little late starting with the pictures but here is the first one of the cut out pieces with the finishing started...

August, September and half of October on My Workbench

I needed a way to keep my firearms stored in a maner that was better than just leaning against the wall. The wire shelf that was there was too low for the longer guns and the muzzles of the rifles would pull the paint off the wall. Also, I wanted to have my ammo with the guns instead of the...

In a moment of inattention, my wife granted me the walk-in closet of the upstairs spare bedroom that had previously been a repository for accumulation, though with my firearms barely noticeable and almost unaccessible behind the door. I needed a reloading space so that I could remain set up and...

    More governement shutdown stuff

Obama sent more security to keep US out of the NPs than he sent to Benghazi. That shows his priorities. He is an enemy of the people, plain and simple.
