    I?m confused and unhappy

I don't understand why having another forum to separate out the NDR would be changing the scope of the sight? Seems it would only help. Maybe stagnet was the wrong choice of word. However to keep this wonderful niche alive being stagnet will not do a thing for this niche. This website is the...

    I?m confused and unhappy

I haven't been here that long, but NDR should be more out in the open for new members. This is not universal language and who reads the fine print? Also, putting DR or NDR is like having two forum sections. I'm just suggesting an idea to keep a website from being stagnet. Maybe not growing...

    I?m confused and unhappy

I finally understand your point of view!! I'm bringing this topic back to life...this website needs a hunting forum and everything else forum. We have common ground with hunting but not all of our hunting blind talk is the same if this makes sense?

Why do we miss the chinook fishery on the Great Lakes-NDR

Honestly I didn't read this long discussion as its too similar of an issue we deal with here in Oregon on several fisheries. Some of these posts seem to go off on a one sided tangent without seeing the larger picture and not addressing the audience properly due to the fact this is duck forum...

    Who dealt with the law

I remember the last discussion about the law.... Those 2 cops weren't doing their "job". Its law enforcement like these two that puts a bad vibe out and forces me to put my guard up. I feel bad for the kids. If that's your local game warden what a piece of work. Say something to him next time...

He looks like a pro! Very cool.

    I?m confused and unhappy

I just remembered I owe a story of my latest outing. I shoot these things next to where I duck hunt and sometimes where I duck hunt! My hunting partner is growing rapidly which is saving my back now!

    Canoe/Kayak/Ducker packing for river trip

16 and counting must be a good problem! I could never decide on what one choose if I had that many!

    I?m confused and unhappy

Anyone here can choose what they want to read or respond too. I haven't been a member on here for too long but I haven't seen enough posts off topic to raise concern to warrant a topic such as this. I know there are some genuine old school duck hunters on here is why I read on this site. Your...

    Canoe/Kayak/Ducker packing for river trip

Capacity and current don't go together. Its a point and go show on any vessel. However our experiences with "white" water are different and I have limited experience outside of Oregon. I am sure you could run some of the tamer rivers here in a canoe. I never seen it and there are better...

Spring is here on the west side

This guy showed up yesterday for us. Will write up a story later after i clean up the mess. I miss packing in the flat marshes!

Spring is here on the west side

Finally seeing signs of spring. I am not good about taking good pictures as this one was for 3 year old and trying to show her where the bear was. Hopefully we can find a larger one soon.

    Canoe/Kayak/Ducker packing for river trip

Just curious on what type of or class rapids you guys run canoes in? I am not familiar with canoes and honestly never seen anyone use on the rivers here in oregon unless it was turd water. Looks like a good option at a good price if the water allows it or you could maneuver it loaded down.

    Canoe/Kayak/Ducker packing for river trip

Sounds like you got options with the quad. Maybe a pack raft if you need to cross and base camp where the quad is? That would save some money as well for other gear. Depending on access maybe having the access to the quad would help with plan b plans. 4 guys from a dedicated camp walking out...

    Canoe/Kayak/Ducker packing for river trip

And two more dead passengers! I'm not familiar with canoes as you would sink where I run but any boat loaded to capacity is not ideal in any water. By the picture you sent....you could row about anything down the stream.

    Arkansas Duck Hunting In Decline?

I think your spot on and your comment that ducks are highly adaptable. Studies show that here in the pacific flyway that historically known waterfowl habit is no longer a staging point. The agricultural has changed around us and the birds have adapted for better feed. What amazes me the...

    Canoe/Kayak/Ducker packing for river trip

Not sure what the river is like but for over night trips here in Oregon we run rafts or cats. You might consider this option depending on flow. I wouldn't skimp on the tent. Finding another way to dry things out is not easy. Sounds like a fun hunt! Good luck.

    Everything is bigger out west

Chris, I may be heading your direction in a few weeks bear hunting if you want to explore the Oregon jungle. Another good past time along the coast! Looks like you may have to be my tour guide at the rate your going.

    Attention Oregon

I would worry more on the new gun laws making the ballot then shooting next to a town. Besides, they only mention a small area for safety reasons. I don't get the vibe blm is against target shooting. They extended safety areas in other parts of Oregon which just added about a couple miles to...

    Pumping water out of pit

I've put 3 12 foot ones in. I had one start to push up. We planted small trees almost like a C shape around the island to help funnel ducks and break up the island. Had to add dirt to stay over the high water mark as well. It came out good once things grew up. That wide open water can be tough...
