    December Workbench

Great idea Don. My wife has complained many years about how I make stuff and give it away and don't keep anything. I've tried to make sure I make her stuff and for the kids, I need to take the time and make some decoys for the future generations.

    Socks

Darn tough merino wool has been the best I've had yet, don't wear out like other brands I've used and are much more comfortable. Also a lot of options on cushioning and lengths.

    November Workbench

I'm drawn to making miniature stuff, not sure why. Maybe because I am short lol. Even as a kid I preferred the 1/64 scale tractors and toys compared to the 1/16 models so just always seem to like that smaller things. A lot of the ducks and stuff I carve are miniature, mostly smaller than 4...

Yes Eric, it does take patience for sure but it tries my attention span. It was hard to stay focused on the adjustable wrench for how long it was taking, my mind was already wondering to the next project.

The adjustable wrench was a pain to do by hand, one day I'm going to get a mill so these kind of projects will be easier and more precise.

Eric, I talked to a friend (is a professional carver) the other day that sells Tupelo stump wood for carving. He goes out where they have logged Tupelo and cuts further down the bell area to be used specifically for decoy carving. He said the reason the loggers leave it is because it's softer...

    October Workbench

Not much magic but a lot of patience since I don't have the equipment that is designed for this kind of work. Battery drill can make a nice lathe for little stuff, have used it for making bushings or small pins for different things. Chucked the fastener in the drill and used different files to...

    October Workbench

Haven't done much wood working lately, but did make this miniature breaker bar and 5/32" socket from some fasteners I had laying around. Working on another one that's a little longer and will have a 1/8" socket as well. Would be fairly easy with a lathe but use what I got, not easy getting a...
