18ft MirroCraft Tender w/ 85hp Johnson $2500

I've used this boat with great success for the last 2 seasons. I installed rollers on the front to roll a layout boat up onto the gunwales. The boat is painted Open Water Medium with Open Water Light wave pattern. It is 18ft and rated for 8 people I believe. The hull is from the 1970's, as is the motor. The hull is aluminum (i.e. great for late-season Wisconsin hunting). The hull has nicks and dings in it, but is watertight. This is not a show-boat, but a very functional work boat. She is missing paint in some places, and has extra holes drilled in the console where old dials used to exist - but that doesn't bother the ducks or the salmon.

The motor is an 85hp Johnson. It runs perfectly. This has been the best motor I've ever owned - no issues in the last 2 seasons (how long I've owned it). Starts right up, even on the cold days. Boat does 29.5mph with 3 guys. Planes easily. For the $2500, I will also include 2 electric downriggers with swivel mounting plates, rod holders, ICOM marine radio, small wip antenna, cheaper fishfinder, solid trailer with newer tires and spare, bilge, lights. This is a turn-key tender. Below are pics from this last season and fishing this summer.

Boat is located in Port Washington, WI.

Any chance I could get a little more info about the boat? ie. beam width and sidewall height? And what condition is the trailer in? How shallow have you had it?I am very interested in this boat but need some more info before committing to a trip from NY to WI to check it out.

Thanks a lot

Hi Phil,

I can get measurements tonight. I would say the shallowest I've had it in is 1.5ft when loaded (it was a sandy bottom). The hull is a deep V - so if super shallow is the goal - this wouldn't be the right boat. I can measure Beam and sidewall height tonight. As far as condition, this is a functional boat - nothing fancy. It has the expected scrapes and dings, but is watertight. The transom has a few drill-holes from old instruments/kicker/etc that had been installed. I put patches on those holes which are functional. In my estimation, this is a $900 motor and a $1600 hull, electronics, and trailer. Trailer is in fair shape. Shows surface rust in spots, but I've kept it painted well. I put new tires on last year and haven't trailered it much - also has a new spare. I wouldn't hesitate pulling it out east (and have been contemplating doing so for my Maine trip this January if I don't sell it).

Hull has foam up under the gunwales. Also has foam under the floor. Being from the 70's, I would strongly suggest replacing this foam to be certain it is functional. I do believe the transom has a wooden board inside of it - I am unsure of the condition of this board, but probably would be smart to replace that as well.

Hope this helps. I want to make sure you have all the facts before you'd make a trip to take a look. I hope to get pictures tonight.

Thanks-
Paul
