Hey folks- My college age son just purchased a First Generation Lund Ducker and she needs some work. This is the one that looks like a duck boat and were only made for two years I believe. Anyways, it has a full wood transom, on the interior of the aluminum skin, and it need to be replaced. Have any of you replaced this before? Looking for ideas. I may opt to call Lund and see if they can help us out. Thank you in advance for your help.

Without pics kind of hard to solve your problem. That said most wooden backers for transoms simply either unbolt or sometimes they,re thru riveted. May be a brace that needs to be unfastened to finish removal. Once removed make pattern from existing backer unless you can see ways to improve upon it. Marine grade plywood of corresponding thickness is ok material to replace with. For rot resistance apply a couple coats of fiberglass resin and paint with marine enamel once dry. If your trying to duplicate factory original application a little more research may be required to stay true to original spec.
