1966 Gus Heinrichs Sneakboat

Hi guys.
I have a 1966 Heinrichs cedar sneakbox in great condition. It has a dog box and a hunter box with wood covers. Boat has always been garaged and the only thing that is not original is the spray dodger.my question to you guys is,is this boat considered a collectable,and if not,what is a ballpark figure it might be worth?Appreciate any input guys.

Bob, If the boat is as nice inside and there is nothing wrong with it should bring 2,000. At 47 years old she looks good.

thanks for the reply John. If that is what the boat is worth I am quite dissapointed as I purchased the boat in 2006 I think from a friend with trailer for 4000.00. he told me thats what it was worth and I believed him,like friends do. I am thinking about selling the boat but that will be a big hit to take seeing I only used the boat maybe six times! Any other replies would be appreciated,thanks Bob
 
If you don't have to sell it and it is in great shape like it sounds. Then it is worth what you paid for it. If you are in a hurry to sell it you will take a lost. It would be a matter of finding the right person that would appreciate that box and its' history.
 
Bob, have you considered contacting the Tuckerton seaport museum in Tuckerton, NJ. They could probably help you out. I believe they have an exhibit with his boats and history.
 
4000 is alot for that boat, still a great boat. I have seen heinrichs go for about 1500-2500

That boat is beautiful! Keep it you probably will regrett getting rid of it. Unless of course you are like me, as I seem to switch out my decoys and boats every couple of years. I wish I could own them all at once, but I would need my own marina and a warehouse for the decoys.

Ha ha,would love to keep the boat Zane to hand down to my fourteen year old son as these boats and their builders have some cool history,problem is I have another boat I want to buy that would get a lot more use and my wife is keeping me at a two boat quota,so one boat has to go.It really is a beautiful boat though.
