25 hp yamaha outboard " more power"

Is their a kit out their to increase the hp on these yamaha's like on the old evenrude 9.9 that you make them in a 15hp. The reason for this is so I can pass my brother with his 35hp. We have the same boats and he get 33 mph and get 31mph, so i have to make litle 25hp pass him. ps I cant change the pitch on my prop because Ill be under power then.

I don't know of a "kit" but we used to replace the reed with a Boyesen http://www.boyesen.com/cwo/OUTBOARD/Products

Depending on the motor and parts availible, we shave the head and or install high compression pistons. Replace the carb with the next size larger or increase the jet size.
With the extra power a prop change (more pitch) will most likely be needed.

Same boats? Just keep going when he runs out of gas. You could lighten your boat or play around with the motor hight and tilt to see if you can squeeze a bit more..but a 25 being that close to a 35 is pretty..darn...good. A little higher number on the pitch will give you a bit more top end but it will take a little bit longer to get there.
