I will be hunting in the southern Virginia area this coming season. I just put together an all aluminum Skiff that turned out a lot better then I thought it would. I would post some pics of it but do not know how to resize them.
I will be hunting in the southern Virginia area this coming season. What is some rude and unwelcome behavior to avoid? I am pretty comfortable hunting upland game but ducks are new to me. Thanks Al

Al,
Welcome aboard from a 62 year old .... oldie....who's been at it a long time. ;)
If you want, email the pictures to me and I'll resize them for you and email them back for you to post.
Let me know how I can help.

Probably the best way to learn waterfowling etiquette would be to watch some DVD's and TV . . . and do the opposite of what you see!

Sounds like you've got at least one lead and I'm sure others will follow. But in all seriousness, don't crowd people (the magic distance varies by individual), don't set up down wind of another group, don't intentionally interfere with another's hunt by calling or shooting (this is also a gray area) at birds if the birds are working hard to another blind. Show up early, not right at shooting time, know how to use you gear, esp at the boat landing, etc. And, hey, we all have bad days and screw up, so keep at it, even if your learning curve screws up someone else from time to time.

I basically try to hunt far far away from others, so no one can do these things to me and i don't have to worry about doing them to others. That's not always possible and I would imagine in highly populated areas, it's pretty difficult.

Stick around, this is a great group of experienced, ethical waterfowlers.

You have come to a great site, Al. Welcome aboard. I'm 69 and looking forward to another good year of duck hunting.
