7.5 HP Mercury coil question

My favorite OB motor, the one that has served me well since 1978, needs a new coil system, according to the Mercury mechanic. And the parts are "obsolete", according to him. The motor is fine in all other respects, and I want to try to save it. I have searched the iboats , etc, parts sites and it does seem the parts are really obsolete.

Does anyone know of another possible parts outlet or alternative coil for this relic motor? I'm too old to be rowing a duckboat around in November! Thanks in advance.......
 
Rich, P.M. me the serial # on the motor and I will check out some sources. Mercs are famous for all the different ignitions and we need to make sure you are looking for the right part.
