A new beginning...

My waterfowling partner sent me this photo from his hide on this lake in Northwestern Lower Michigan, probably the only expanse of marshland left on the water body dotted with multi-million dollar homes. The message accompanying the photo stated that he was pulling decoys fifteen minutes into shooting time to head home and join hid wife on a drive down to Chicago to witness the birth of their grandchild...

As I looked at the photo, I realized that it was a pictoral metaphor for the event he and Linda were traveling to witness...Good luck, Kira!

Congrats to him and the family!

Those incredible sunrises of duck season are like hitting the reset button every time. I always have to stop and take a moment to admire it. That moment is usually interrupted by my son telling me to hand over the shells, ducks are coming!
