one thing. Your title on the photo shows "snail kite"....based on the photo the bird is a female Northern Harrier and not a female Snail Kite....

The bird in the photo has the facial disks of a Harrier and not the dark eye line of a Kite. The white looks to be on the rump and not on the tail feathers itself as in a Kite and there is no sub-termianl white band like you'd expect on the Kite.....

Neat picture either way for sure....

Turkey seasons coming...Can't wait to see the photos from that first weekend. Good luck....

female Marsh Hawk. I have one (a female) that loves to circle over the food plot below the shop. She seems to be there everytime I go up there, including today. Occasionally teh smaller grey male is mousing the field with here.

Nest photo Hitch, looks like she's just about to turn left on a dime. They are great birds and I love to wattch them mousing. Especially when they suddenly turn like that and then drop like a rock into high grass to catch a mouse.

Thanks for the phone call Steve, that was fun and now all I have to say to Judy is "0-200 in 4 secomds" and she bursts out laughing! Good one buddy. It will go to the Trap range sunday and be told to Bob Houk....too funny.

Sweet pic Hitch, that left wing looks like a catchers mit. Been watching the hawks around here nailing mice on the snow.
