A Special Morning

Today was special! I went out this morning to hunt the river and was able to take a nice bluebill and a goldeneye too, but what made this morning so special was I had never taken a goldeneye before, and on top of that, I was able to shoot it over some goldeneye deeks that I carved this summer -- the first decoys I had ever made!

Just thought I would share this with ya'll.

Happy hunting!

P.S. I also was able to shoot my first duck out of my new Broadbill last Saturday -- a handsome drake wood duck! Lord how I love waterfowling and everything about it!

Grace and peace!

David

That is a great beginning to your boat adventure you have embarked on. Keep us posted on the boat and the hunts. Looks like the decoys are a hit with the birds. Now you are going to have to fill out the rig.

Enjoy

I'll bet your grin was from ear to ear! You have to be so proud. Congratulations, David, on that fine hunt and for a FIRST!

You made this statement and I couldn't have said it any better because I have been thinking it for 57 years now.

Look, you're in Alabama so get with the program. White out all the landmarks so nobody can figure out where you hunted, yet you can still prove you are a worthy duck killer.

All kidding aside, glad you are enjoying the boat and it is extra cool you are not only gunning from the boat you built but also over the rig you carved.

Congratulations.

David,

Congrats on putting it all together. I imagine your are rightly enjoying a fine sense of accomplishment. Is, what appears to be a section of "hog panel", there for grassing purposes?

Hell Im from NY and even I know where your spot is now David.....hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Congrats !

The hog panel is for just that, plus it gives me the ability to strap the dodger down while under way. The kicker is I can reverse the mounting of the dodger and place it on the stern deck if necessary! Possibilities with Presbyterians abound!

Grace and Advent peace!
