Alabama Storm Damage

I realize that this is off topic, but I got this link in an email this morning and thought that I would share.

I have family in Enterprise, AL and they got a lot of damage as well. I was there over the weekend helping them clean up but I didn't take any pictures. There was too much work to be done to worry with the pictures while I was there -- plus, I'm sure that everyone has seen plenty from that area because that is where the high school was hit and 8 students died.

Jon,

I work for the company which insures all of the Town of Enterprise's commercial property. I was in Montgomery on Monday and heard the reports of the devastation that occurred in that area. I have also seen that type of devastation over the last 15 years firsthand and it is something that you never get used to.

I hope all of your family was not injured. You can replace the other stuff.

The family is OK -- they had a lot of trees down on their street. Large Live Oaks and Pecan trees mostly. They were about 600 yards from the center of the tornado and they are only 150 yards from some peanut storage warehouses that were completely destroyed. A piece of one of those warehouses hit the adjacent railroad tracks so hard, it bent the tracks!

Tornado's are a trip. I have seen many times over the years one home completely destroyed and the next door neighbor will not even have a shingle torn from the roof.
