I am looking at replacing the wood floor in my jon boat with aluminum. I have noted a couple of folks who have used 1/8" sheet. Can you go lighter or will it flex too much under foot? What do you folks recommend?

I should have also asked what grade of aluminum is recommended?
On my old mv jon boat, I used a floor kit made for my boat and I'm not sure what thickness it was but it was less than 1/8". But it came with foam slabs that went between the ribs to provide support. Also dampened noise.
If you go with that approach, you can get by with the thinner stuff.

you can get foam at lowes or homdepot i've used the blue foam from sears and it worked well just make shure thickness is exact
