Another 1 man, or a 2 man layout?

Gentlemen, looking for advice on what to build next to best fit the fleet. I finished building my first duckboat this spring - it's a marsh-monster layout boat. Tested it this weekend for the first time and it performed wonderfully (I'll get pictures up soon).

Our Tender boat is an 18' aluminum center console with a 70hp.

We are looking to have at least 2 layout hunters at a time. I am contemplating building another 1-man vs. building a waterfowl-works 2 man layout. I am on the fence. I realize the one man would be less work, but a two man would enable hunting with the dog.

I searched old posts that discussed the pros and cons of each. To summarize:

2-man Layout:
Harder to handle
Higher profile
Can hunt with dog
More stable, more room
More time consuming build
More camaraderie

Two one-man layouts:
Easier to handle
Lower overall profile
Quicker to build
Less Camaraderie

I am thinking the winning factor here may be the fact that one vehicle could haul the tender with two layouts strapped on; while you would need a second vehicle if you were to bring a two man layout along.

I would very much appreciate any additional feedback or advice for those who have been in a similar situation.

Additionally, I would love to see pictures of racks that anyone has built on their tenders to hold layouts.

Thanks-
Paul

When I have hunted a two man layout with two right handed shooters it has been my experience that the person on the right has a natural handicap. It is difficult to swing very far right and to swing left brings their barrel in front of the person on their left. The shooting lane is thus very limited. I believe two one man boats is the way to go.
