Baby Turtle rescuing

Well with Isaac out there churning up the seas, I knew that there'd be a good chance for washback of baby turtles onto the beach. So I headed down to Cocoa to wander the beaches and see what could be found on the beaches.

I found this little guy washed way up the beach, behind a bunch of driftwood and vegetation trying hard to get back to the water.


Sooooooooooo being the turtle hugger I am, I lifted the cute little bugger free of all the obstructions and watched as he went on his way home........

Hopefully he found his way back to a big sargassum mat and won't be washed back up.

Hell Dani - I thought you were going to say Steve made a hellishin good turtle soup out of the little fella - Just Kiddin - Tell Steve I said Hey!
 
Dani, If you are at the beach some time in the future and a turtle crawls out of the ocean and calls you "MAMA" you will know it survived. Good job on the rescue. It looks like Issac is going to miss you.

Tom....I sure wouldn't protest to a bunch of little bitty sea turtles following me around saying Mama Mama...they are cute little buggers for sure. Hopefully the little turtle is a lucky female and she'll be back in 10-12 years to the beach to lay a bunch of eggs.

Fred...Not sure where I'll be for my fall trip. Possibly MT/ND area. Perhaps back in WA. That's still up in the air as to where I'll be. I sure would like to get back out there though...such a gorgeous part of the country....
