As some are likely already aware, FOUR MONTHS IN A SNEAK-BOX, by Nathaniel Holmes Bishop, has been reprinted. The original 1879 printing is hard to find and certainly isn't cheap. Over the years I missed out on two copies due to being late with my order. The Narrative Press (www.narrativepress.com) is now offering the reprint for $17.95. While there is very little dealing with hunting, this book appears to be a very good read. Bishop had a Barnegat made for him and rowed it 2,600 miles from the Allegheny River, through the Gulf to the Suwannee River in 1875. The opening chapter has good stuff about having the boat built for him. I just got my copy, am due to leave tomorrow for Mexico in hopes of a Gould's, so having really haven't done more than just spot read parts. Hope this posting will be of interest to some of you.
