By now most of the regulars here recall that I give my son a carved decoy for his birthday(s). Every year is a different carver and species of decoy that carver enjoys making the most. This is Garrett's 8th decoy, a ring necked drake made for him expressly this year by Willy McDonald. Another beautiful block for my son's collection. Thanks Willy!

Nice decoy! That is a really nice gift idea, your son will have a wonderful spread of decoys someday. Any pics or info on the whole collection so far?

Wow what a great picture and I finally can wish Garett Happy Birthday officially. I had the chance to guide Garett and his sister Gabby on a tour of the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. They had a ball and I was impressed with their appreciation and respect of Mother Natures creatures. Gabby did a great job feeding the swans right out of her hand. It was a special afternoon for them but even more special for me. Great kids......you have every reason to be proud Brian. See you in class in Jan?
