Black Brant III Build

Getting the BB3 ready to hunt. Still need to finish the blind and get some fastgrass. Took it out on the Thames river. Really pleased with the handling. Moves right along. Had to adjust the engine to reduce porpoising. Building the transom at 17 degrees was right on. Thanks to the advice from duckboats.net. Have one more adjust position but she is pretty stable on plane now with only a slight tendency to porpoise. I think when loaded the engine position should be just right. Overall building the BB3 has been really fun and satisfying. Now I want to blast some ducks.

Boat looks very good. How was the fishing? It should have been a great way to get into some good spots.

Have you run the boat in the places you want to hunt during the late season.

Now is a very good time to get your bearings and any hidden rock issues out of the way in the warm water.

Good luck.

Daryl,

I still don't think you used enough snaps on the blind....

Are you running the boat from that swivel seat? Hit a wave/wake at WOT and you are in the drink with those low gunnels...better have the kill switch cord on your wrist.

Don't drag that nice rig up onto the ramp like that unless you want to repair the bow every summer....asphault and concrete are worse than sandpaper....

Now all you need to do is get rid of a few cats and get a Labrador....

We ought to take a boat ride next weekend....
