I suppose that the pile of cedar shavings isn't funny anymore so here are some real pictures.

Unfortunately this is how she will be sitting for more then a week because I won't be able to work on her again till August.

How are you liking your Parks? Looks like you've been puting it to work.

Wow Eric you posted quick!

I like the Parks, I had been looking for six months and could not find any quality machines. I mentioned to the saw mill owner when I was buying some cedar that I was in the market and it turned out a neighbor had one for sale along with the 6" delta. Price was really really fair. Hardest part is moving it around its a beast!

Not nearly as clean as your machines but its doing the work and a dream to adjust and use.

You MUST have a no smoking policy in your shop :0

Actually I've been saving my planer shavings for starting campfires, a box full of shavings and a box full of decoy cut out scraps will get it blazing.

Cool boat too.

Hey this might be a new angle to purpose reason for a new planner to wife, Free horse bedding for her horse? Anyone locally would probably come over and pick up shavings for there horse and u wouldn't have to clean up. More importantly sweet "little" build ya got going there. Please share details on plans and purpose for it.

Thanks,
Gene R.

Sawn frames, slight rocker, nice.

Question, I don't see any seams for oakum, how are you planning on sealing it? Please tell me you aren't going to sheath all that hard work in glass.

Ron

Glad you guys like the project.

Ron sorry to disappoint but the frames are laminated and I will be sheathing her. Although the idea of a traditional build like that is appealing. It plants some ideas for the next build.

I should be able to work on her again in a week or so and take a few more pictures. This build is really rewarding I have really enjoyed the design work and the traditional aspects of the build are really fun to do.

Little after 1:00am here.
I forgot how much I enjoy the sanding on the boats. You get a feel for it and you have time to think. Probably spent 6 hours total sanding her smooth.

Here she is. If it were a fully traditional boat I would be flipping her over and dropping her in the water to let the cedar swell and seal the hull. Unfortunately though that does not fit with my plans for her so now its on to sheathing the hull in epoxy.

Thats a nice boat mate and you are doing a great job of it, but to say your workshop could do with a good clean up would be a under statement.
Take care and God Bless

Its all about Building that Bond.

Dave,
I wish we could Laura and I had tossed around the idea and she was leaning towards heading down but a friend asked us to watch her Daughter for the weekend so we will be staying closer to home. Next year for sure!

Besides I don't have a pie to bring!

Brandon,

You could always come alone leaving Laura to watch your friend's daughter. It only your anniversary weekend after all, not like it's real important or anything. :>) :>) go ahead I dare ya, double dare ya!
