Book recomendation

Hey All,

Read this book this weekend and frankly, it reminded me of this place and thought you all would enjoy it too.

It's an easy read (about 130 pages), but puts perspective on how we are all as humans attracted to groups of commonality such as the DHBP. A few weeks ago I was at a professional conference, talking to a friend from New Jersey (yes, I have friends from New Jersey) and we got onto books and he recommended it. The wife thought we might have it already, but neither of us could find it in the stacks so she ordered it and after finishing off a couple others that were already cued up I jumped in.

Hope you enjoy
Chuck

Good morning, Chuck~

I read this when it came out. Like all Junger's work, truly worth reading. I especially enjoyed his discussion of Indian societal "rules".

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks Chuck .. Have it on the way Always looking for something out of my norm to read.

I took the easy route and downloaded the audible version of it tonight. I have lots of drive time at work and he reads his own book so I went for it.
Thanks for the recommendation.

So I just read this over the last couple of days and it was a lot for me (with my simple mind) to digest. I know it's not a huge volume of pages but it is sure packed with a whole lot of thought provoking ideas and info. I almost never reread a book, watch a movie a second time...etc but this was so much so fast that I'll have to let it set for a while and then read it again. As SJS I also enjoyed the American Indian history and while I'm a Nam era vet I am not a combat vet. I fought the "Cold War" in Europe for all of my service after stateside training. I've often wondered about the PTSD problem with the vets from my era to present and this has so much info that I will have to reread it to try and get my head around it. Ive always tried to relate modern veterans problems to my exposure to the vets from WWII, and Korea. I need to reevaluate my thinking I believe.

Sorry this is long winded but this was a heck of a read for me that made a big impression on me and I'm really glad Chuck J pointed it out to us.
