Hey guys
I have been looking for some material to make some dodgers/ blinds for a couple of sneak boats. Have been to local canvas shops and craft stores, but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I was wondering if anyone hand any suggestions. Also looking for thin webbing to make stubble straps. I like sun fella canvas but they don't offer any colors that would be optimal. Looking for camo pattern or darker colors. Thanks

Chester~

They do not have camo patterns per se, but SailRite (http://www.sailrite.com/) has lots of "earth tone" Sunbrella Marine colors - and also nylon webbing in many colors and widths. You will be able to find a base color close to what you need - and you can always paint it (eithjer spray or thinned duckboat paint) if you want a camo pattern.

BTW: Don't be scared off by the list prices - actual prices are usually lower - esp. this time of year. And note that Sunbrella comes in both 38 and 60-inch widths.

Hope this helps,

SJS

Chester look into 1000d cordura and military colors. There is a vast arrray of color options to choose from. Ebay is a great place to find it as well.

420 or 500 denier pack cloth fabric might be a better choice- more options for colors, it wont be as stiff and much much lighter.

i have never been happy with sunbrella fabrics. they just don't feel right, they don't wear well for me.

you might might want to look at DIY Tactical for ideas and info for webbing and construction details. http://www.diytactical.com
