Steve Sanford Well-known member Nov 18, 2023 #2 Dax~ Here are some photos that might help. The depth of eye channels is always a tough call for me - on any species. Never sure how much shadow I want to cast.... In reality. most waterfowl show very little "eye channel" when the feathers are relaxed. Jaw line varies, too, of course. I always like to show a bit of the "knot" on their squared-off heads. In process. Their delicate bill - compared with most of geese - is important to my eye. The "swimming" posture is most typical for this species. No channel showing here.... FWIW - Here a the Behr colors I use - shown on a Homer Decoys bird. Hope these are useful! SJS
