does anyone have a pair of the new columbia omni heat bibs. I was looking for a new pair and they seemed interesting. Beings that they have less bulk than regular bibs, be great for hunting in layout blinds. Cant find any in local stores to see first hand, wanted to find out more before i bought a pair. Don't want to spend top dollar for another thing that just sits in the closet....
Thanks

Chester,
I'm not familiar with the new omni heat bibs but I do have a Columbia widgeon parka that has been keeping me warm and dry for over 15yrs. If the new bibs are made anything like my parka you'll be very satisfied. Hope this helps. Chris

We sell Columbia Omni Heat clothing and footwear where I work. Having tested the product in actual freezing conditions I can affirm that it is plenty warm. I can't comment on the camo patterns as we don't sell hunting clothing.

I bought a pair from Cabelas back in Sept. At first I felt that they wouldnt hold up. The lining seems very light. But after using them for half the season in our pits. I can tell you they're great, very light in weight, waterproof and very warm. Beleive or not the thing that I like about them the most is the weight. We have to walk about 1/2 mile to one of my pits, I used to dread the walk with my old 10X's that weighed about 100 pounds. So far no signs of wear. I'll let you know how they hold up by the end of Jan.
