convert live well to dry storage

as the line says. i have a live well on my boat and i'd like to convert it to a dry storage. anyone have any experience in this? i know i can silicon seams and such, but how would i make the lid (which will be my driver and passenger seat) from leaking?

One idea: Put either a piece of aluminum or plywood across the top, rivet/bolt it down, sealing the current openings off. Then put some hatches in the front of the bench. Re-attach the seats.

Seal the overflow and aerator holes in the livewell too. And remove the live well pump to make sure you won't accidently pump the boat full of water!
