Cork decoys

I think I will try an attempt for carving this spring/summer. I have only carved one decoy , and it was made of wood. I would like to try cork and would appreciate it if anyone could refer me to a source for cork. Thanks for any consideration

Check out The Duck Blind at

www.theduckblind.com

Willy and Di are a couple of great people, with great service.

Check out their web site, Cyber Classroom, it will give you a good
starting point. Check out the making Hunting Decoy DVD/Video they have
for sale as well. Even has a package deal on decoy cork, pattern, head wood and DVD. They helped me into my addiction.....hehe

Best of luck......yell if you need more help.

yea tim bombardier sells cork hes up here in vermont i think his email is on the runamuck site or just look down in the carvers corner archive. i get mine from him and its shipped to my house and i write him a check. the duck blind is also a good source. jennings decoy co is another place to get cork and they also sell basswood for heads and tail stock.

ive been at it since 2002 ive carved 160 or so to date and i hunt over 3 of my own haha. my birds are sold well before the damn paint is dry. ive donated decoys to local DU banquets where i had to hold the bird outside of my truck window on the way there hopping it would dry before i arrived.

hey good luck with carving but remember to watch out for those carbide burr bits for foredom rotary tools cause if you not paying attention your likely to lose a knuckle
