yesterday. I went through my 2006 BMA guide and used the map for Region 4 to pick out places that were winthin a 2 hour or less drive of LT that would be huntable for a one days hunt from home.
It worked out to be a total of 41 property's that were marked at least UGB. Some were marked UGB/WF, but most were marked D/A/UGB/ and some were marked E/D/A/UGB. Sizes ran from as small as 820 acres to three that were just N/E of LT that ran 32,015, 72,329 and one ranch that was 239,720 acres in size! Now that give you some elbow room huh?
I should get the 2007 BMA maps and guides sometime in July when the new property's are added. Total acreage of the 41 property's I picked out is 500,663 acres which would keep a guy pretty busy during a hunting season. Half of them are "green box" and the rest is by written permision prior to hunting. I wonder what the total acreage is for all the BMA's in the State?
