Guys I think its time to start looking at my options for my dogs ashes. I am thinking I would like either 1 NICE wood decoy or 6 nice Cork decoys that I can have Drakes ashes put in. Either a wood mantle bird or 6 gunners in cork.

If anyone here has done these and or do these please pm me pricing and some photos of your work.

If anyone has some decoys already done and have recommendations that would be good to. along with some photo's.

Of course the decoy will have to be a Drake or 6 Drakes. LOL

Frank Peeters did a terrific drake Mallard for Shiloh's remains.
But there was so much to put into the decoy that it won't really float. If you're planning on hunting over Drake one last time, you need to go with multiple decoys.

Here's an idea. Take a favorite wood or solid cork decoy and hole saw into the bottom an inch or so. Chissle out the wood to make a chamber. Put the ashes in the cavity either loose or in a water tight container and epoxy in a wood plug made with the same hole saw out of oak or mahogany. Add a brass plaque with your dog's name and years of life. Varnish over the mahogany to help seal it and keep it looking good . Polish the brass tag every year before and after the season and add a coat of varnish every couple of years. Have a drink to honor your dog while you are doing this as he/ she is waiting and scouting for you up there.
