i finally got out the canoe yesterday, and did some looking around. i found a narrow little gut that we passed everyday all summer crabbing, but i never knew was there until yesterday. it winds through the marsh for about 1 mile, is 10-50' wide, and has very deep (for its size) channels, 7-12' deep around the edges, several sand bars and little mud and sand flats, and little shallow cut outs along the edges. as i paddled through there, we jumped probably 30 black ducks and 80-100 dippers.
my question is, ya think they will be there next november, or is it too late into the spring to tell where they will be? thanks for any info.

If they are there now, they will most likely be there during the season.

I would suspect so, maybe not in the same numbers as we are seeing a northern migration right now. But there are always expections, starting 2 weeks ago I started getting Blackheads showing up up on my bay. They are never in there in the fall or winter but show up in march every year. I suspect they are feeding on minnows or some other food that shows up in the small bays this time of year.
