Here are a few pictures of some weights I made. I came across a bag of quickcrete<? my friend had laying around so I scooped it up and made some weights the only thing I bought for this project was some little bathroom dixie cups. It was super simple what you will need is some decoy line i used the pvc i had some laying around that was semi used, old nails or screws/bolts ones that will fit in the cup (I used old screws from a deck I took down), you will need the dixie cups<(dollar general) paper no wax so it can dry properly.
# 1 mix the crete
# 2 tie the cord onto the nail just a simple knot
# 3 put nail in bottom of cup with cord hanging out and centered
# 4 add the crete tap it so it settles properly
# 5 let it dry (I gave mine 24 hours)
# 6 peel cup off (comes off in two parts)
I dipped mine to have a rubber coating and put it on extra thick I plan to use them on my goose decoys because I need something with more weight to hold them in the river with the tide change and current and the ice pushing them around they just weren't holding. Hope this helps some one down the road. One last note when you have the crete in and waiting to dry if you don't keep your cord centered it will just make it hang crooked witch led to problems when dipping them and hanging to dry. If I find these to not work I will post an update but I wont really no until I get them in the field.
