Here is a first post on this build to fill yall in on the past 9 months. Last summer my grandfather decided he was too old and parted out his wood shop between me, my cousin and brother in law. So that got me to thinking that it was time for me to put all those saws and tools to work to replace our venerable 1970 Glastron V147 whose hull has reach the end of its lifespan.
Searching around and asking a few questions I decided on the the mallard plans modified by not making the bottom on arcs of a circle. I chose this because I wanted to use the traditional framing as a training session on basic woodworking and carpentry. Also, since moving back to West TN I found what I really needed was just enough for me, the progeny and really shallow water, some of which does have current. That lead me to the mallard as built here it is probably really close to a duck boat too.
So here are some build pictures to start it off.
