Got brant in one of the places I hunt and no brant decoys..... and too late to acquire any....

Do I just put out my Canada floaters and hope and pray?

Jim

Brant are not to hard to decoy, but I have better luck with Black ducks and buffle decoys over canada's.

Like jode said they aren't hard to decoy. They are pretty dumb shoot at em and they come back for more. I have seen guys use a goose flag to bring em in. The goose decoys probably will work give it a try

my best luck has been with bluebills but if you stand out in your spread and do juming jacks the brant will still drop in, they arent real hard

No. They won't decoy to them but I have had them come check the Canada out. Close enough to shoot. Never seen them actually decoy to them. Pick up 2 or 3 brant on the edge of your spread. That will do the job especially with Canada's at other end

Last saturday I had Geese and blacks to the right of me and Bluebills and mallards on the left. the brandt landed between the bluebills and mallards.

In my opinion, not all that well, but they do. If you are where they want to be, then yes, if not, then not so much.

It shouldn't take anytime at all to paint some Canada decoys like brant. Or to cut out some quick silhouettes and paint them up.

well thats waterfowling in a nutshell......your either on the X or not LOL

We have killed a limit of brant each time out and we dont own a brant decoy. We have had them swim into the goose spread and have decoyed as many as 20 this year. The goose stools will work but as the others said it helps to be where they want to be. As goes for any waterfowling.
