Dog's least favorite night

My dog Dixie isn't gun shy, but she can't stand fireworks! She is currently panting and slobbering all over the house. The neighbors went all out this year at the fireworks stand.

She has now moved on to playing floor hockey with any thing that is not tied down, dog dish, rugs, vacuum. She must be trying to keep busy.

Had the same thing happen Andy, All you can do is reassure them tell them it's alright. To bad dog don't like ear muffs. I think it's the sharp crack that hurts their ears.

she's as happy as a clam at high-tide this morning.

I saw a cartoon in the paper that read: If June 21st is the longest day of the year, July 4th is the longest night.

Andy,

I think you'll find that you will only reinforce that insecure feeling in your dog if you confort her when your neighbors set off firecrackers (or during thunderstorms). you might try playing with her and having a grand ole time the next time or even walking her around the neighborhood (but not during a storm). good luck.
