Duck you never see in a corn field

I shot this on Christmas Eve in a flooded corn field in MS. I've never seen a G-eye in Mississippi, much less in that kind of habitat. Very pretty hen and if I didn't already have on on the wall I would have it sent it to the taxidermist as it makes a neat story.

awesome man! right now i'm wondering what any duck looks like! i think i'm tied for the season with what you have there on the 4 wheeler :)

Pretty cool! I'll bet that was a real trip when you picked it up!

I shot a canvasback in a flooded cornfield once. A bufflehead too on the same day. The craziest thing ever...I shot a greater scaup in a dry cornfield over a goose spread. Thing broke right down and shot over the top of me at about 25 yards. Must've been cruising between ponds and just dropped down to take a look. I'll never know...it was full of mysis shrimp.
