Teal season opened in Oklahoma a little earlier this year it seems, Sept 7th. I was able to take some friends out hunting on opening day. A father and son. The father had only waterfowl hunted a couple times in the past and his Ethan, 17 had never hunted any waterfowl. Both were deer hunters, however. I had scouted around and located a good area that had quite a few ducks around. We got out there early and were set up about 30 minutes before shooting time. They were both quite excited as we listened to ducks flying around and landing in the decoys, along with all the other noises in a freshwater marsh coming to life. Well, once it started, it did not take too long to limit out. About an hour. It turns out the 2 guests could shoot. We each got our 6 teal, all bluewings that morning. The Lord blessed us that morning with a very good day. I believe these two men have become duck hunters. Time will tell.
