...Pat Gregory gets that great vintage look on his decoys?

Check out the newest In The Shop installment on www.thedecoyshed.org ...see Applying An Antiquing Wash

I'll warn you up front, this is a long segment, but Pat shares a ton of great information.

Enjoy!

Great job! I watched the whole thing. I liked that its was filmed from start to finish. I now just need to try it out.

Nice website. I will have to go back and spend some of my time watching the videos....not my boss's time....

Thanks Pat and Tim...I have done similar "glazes" before but never got the results I did with this one. Very happy with how the bird finished and how easy that was. Keep up the good work!

Tim and Pat,

Great video on a wash technique that I've been trying to master. Now I've realized that I need linseed oil instead of turps (the turps took off the paint - opps). As always Pat, you make it look too easy!

Pat and Tim,

I had a little fun tonight with some of my old hunting decoys that needed a tune up. And then I just keep on going with the vintage wash.....I did 8 decoys total. Thanks for sharing the "secret." I love the ease and look of the technique.

Pat & Tim -
Thank you for taking the time to film that. I just wrapped up rehabbing a rig of LL Bean Coastal Magnum blacks and really didn't like the way the heads looked with "bright" latex paint. I washed them with straight raw umber and they look great, I love the sheen it gives them. I wish I had a before picture...

Now I need to wash all of my hens...

Thanks!!!
