Sorry guys, havent really been contributing much to the forum in the last month, but it has been a great stretch of hunting for us. Myself an Wes Bouchelle have been chasing everything from mallards in the swamps to broadbills out on the open bay and it has been pretty productive! However things are starting to slow down as everything is freezing up and our spots are limited. Have had a lot of laughs and a great time enjoying the outdoors this season

I was finally able to shoot my first banded duck, a hen mallard which was banded in quebec. This particular swamp is right behind my house so its pretty amazing to me that that bird came from 500 some miles north of here and practicly ended up in my backyard

This hunt took place on the morning of christmas eve and was an unforgettable one. We had huge flocks of broadbill working perfectly into the spread and was able to take a 3 man limit with a few bonus buffies by around 830 am, then proceeded to watch more and more flocks land in the decoys.

This one was short and sweet. found a nice pile of birds in the same swamp behind my house and set up for them the morning before the blizzard. Wind and weather was perfect and the birds dropped in perfect. Was able to take a 2 man mallard limit and black ducks by 720! Even better than getting the limit was just watching the birds cut through the trees in that stiff wind.

My most recent hunt was today with Wes and conditions werent very favorable. Got to the ramp and it was windy, dense fog, and rain. Going down we knew what we were getting into but figured you cant shoot ducks at home so gave it a try anyways. We navigated our way out to this little sheltered cove and set a small puddler spread out. When shooting time rolled around, visibility was only about 60-70 yards. We had a pair of black ducks decoy and was able to take one. After that the fog started to lift and we picked at a few mallards and bufflehead. I was however able to take my first old squaw today which was pretty cool. Made the best of it today and ended up having a great time

Heres a few more pictures with no particular story..

Gotta love the pictures of the spread and duck boat in action as much as the productivity of the hunt. Nice job down there and things have been red hot here in MA. Actually wish it would warm up to let the ice out of the bays so I can get my little boat to enjoy a few last hunts before the season ends on Saturday. Keep the pictures coming and good hunting.

Thanks Bill! And no that isnt AC.. we hunt north of there (mostly barnegat bay ) but i did hunt behind AC a few times this year and had some good diver trips

Hey Colin - Thanks for posting, nice shots and looks like good shooting too ! The area that you are hunting looks very productive with a good mix of big and small water. Congrats on the band !
