Foredoms and Dog Care

I know.......... it doesn't sound like a likely combination.

Actually, my son, knowing how much Drake hates to have his nails trimmed with the clippers, bought me one of those "Pedi-paws" deals as a gift. Basically it is just a small battery operated sanding drum that files the dogs nails down.

Well it seemed like a great idea so I tried it out on Drake. He didn't seem to mind this nearly as much as the clippers but the filing was really really slow. Apparently the Pedi-paws is engineered for foo-foo dogs and not real dogs like a lab.

Soooo, I get me this bright idea that "Hey, I've got a sanding wheel on the foredom, I bet that will eat right through these tough old dog toenails". Well waddayuknow it really worked like a charm. It only took about 5 seconds to grind each one down and Drake thought it was pretty cool. No fuss...no blood.

Just thought I'd let you all know that the foredom is good for more than just decoys.

I do the same thing with my Dremel tool and sanding drum. Way better and less stressful than the clippers. My old dog does not wear his down as he is basically a house dog. Works way better than the "as seen on TV". Dave
