Giant Geese Decoy

No. I think he is talking about that 6 foot long decoy you used to get from Herters. I guy had one for sale on ebay about a year ago, and I was half tempted but the wife put the kibosh on that. There was a set of doors on the top of the thing that you flung open to shot but I don't remember how you got inside. Never saw one in person but it must have made putting out full body decoys easy by comparison. I think it was like 6 foot long and 70-80"tall at the head. I've got some old duck hunting magazines from the 70-80's. There might be a picture in there. I'll look.

Exactly! its big enough to fit a man inside the decoy . Thanks for the reply

I'm pretty sure it was fiberglass. I don't believe they published the weight but that was in the days of 8 foot long truck beds so getting it into and out of the truck was at least a two man job as it took up most of the bed.

I think Lou Tisch at Lock, Stock and Barrel used to sell them...did a quick image search and that was the first image on the page...

Edit to add...he did. They were 6 foot long fiberglass, either kit or finished.

Nice, and thank you for posting up the pics. Days gone by for sure. Is LS&B still in business ? Always liked the looks of their Whistler layout boats but could never afford one.

Very nice !!! It looks like the one i have in mind it could be an older model than the one im talking about . I remember the wing were unfoldable and you could take the head off with only one bolts

I just sold my LSB scull boat back to Lou this summer. I purchased it new from him in 1988. From our brief conversation, he is still in business but I don't know how much he is promoting it. If you are looking for his 16 foot sculler, he is refurbishing some of his boats and still selling decoys.
