Neat pic. Dave. Where was it taken? Too bad you can't get the numbers somehow without getting ripped up, either by the bird or The Man.
 
One of his cousins stole a bluebill from me on Currituck Sound the last day of the NC waterfowl season. Come to think of it, the same thing happened last year, too.

I always feel compelled to mention that I have been duck hunting for 27 years and have killed a bunch of ducks, geese and swans in that time. Nonetheless, I have never killed a banded bird. Life is not fair...

Ya, I wonder how long it would take the Feds to show up at your door after calling in THOSE numbers??? hehe

I can hear Dave on the phone now,,,,, Yes ma'am, those are the correct numbers. No, I'm not sure just what type of bird he was but he was sure a big one. Pretty good from the fryer too, with just a hint of a fishy taste to the darker meat.

very nice getting a banded bird photo is like actul picking up your duck and seeing that band , I agree it would have been really cool to get the number (by zoom) and call them in just to report where you saw it
 
That's really cool! Eagle bands are HUGE! When I was in school some of my fellow bio students banded raptors and showed me the rivet bands. Awesome photo Dave!
