Flying out East Thursday night to meet the Wife in Nj, have most of the day Friday to myself while the Wife is in class.

I am planning on going to the Havre De Grace decoy museum in the morning, is there any other must see decoy related places in the neighborhood?

Saturday we are heading out to the Ward museum and to see some fat ponies on a Island that I can't spell, so I think Saturday is pretty much booked up.

Town of North East has a small museum, call to see if its open. Nice shops too. Ward museum is a must do... Aberdeen proving grounds, near Have De Grace excellent...

Vincenti Decoys was a neat place there to wander in. That's all about decoys.

And the Laurapin Grill was pretty good.

Definitely check out Vincenti's Store.

And my wife and I both second the Laurapin Grill...That's the main reason my wife goes to their show in May with me.

Tidewater Grill in Havre De Grace has the best crab cakes that I have eaten any where in the world. They are amazing and the place is on the water.

"First Fridays" in HdG are held the first Friday of the month, from 5pm-9pm down town. If you get the time check it out, NDR but one heck of a good time. If ya need a new hat with Style, there is a vendor there from Baltimore, that will make ya smile and laugh....she's very Good at what she does.

north east museum is a must...might need to make appojntment ....Woody's crab house had an excellent oyster stew.......Vincenti decoy shop in HDG.... and then there is a number of decoy makers you can visit...bill streaker in Northeast....jimmy pierce ....Pat Vincenti in HDG.....and numerous others.......you will have more than enough to keep you busy....

ahhh...I love this! I'm sitting in my office as we speak, 9 minutes from downtown HdG, lookin at the headwaters of the Bush River and APG.

Here's my 2 cents (for what its worth).....Vincentis' is definitely worth a stop: lots of decoys (he's a broker, not just a carver, so you'll see some fantastic collectibles). I was actually in there this week, and he had a couple of nice Mitchells, couple of Ward cans, and a great pair of Holly cans. I was actually picking up a pair of Sam Barnes corkers in original paint that came out of the tractor shed of a farm in Aberdeen....let's just say they were definitely hunted!

Laurapin Grill is my wife's and my favorite restaurant in HdG. Tidewater is nice, but they changed the format a couple years ago, and we just dont' like it as much.

Just pinged my buddy who is helping to get the upper bay museum (North East) on its feet again....will let you know if it'll be open tomorrow.

If you walk over to the yacht basin (block or two from the HdG Decoy Museum), you can get a great view of the Susquehanna Flats where we body boot. Actually, the best view from there is in the parking lot of the old Bayou Hotel right next to the yacht basin (where Babe Ruth and all the other notables used to stay when hunting on the Flats).

oh...and after dinner, be sure to stop by Bomboy's for some ice cream.

i love this town (just hate the state)! have a great trip.

glad to take you on a cook's tour of the dungeon, if you want to see a working decoy shop-Northeast is just a stone's throw from h de g, on the other side of the bay/river. I am about an hour away, in dover delaware.
Man, the guys here certainly have offered some neat spots, but they are not too close to h de g AND, with fuel as it is, you would be running around in the car instead of enjoying your time.
There will be other visits, we hope.
