Hats off to Willy McDonald

I had the the pleasure of going to Willy's painting class this last weekend. Wow! He is really a great teacher. Time and money well spent. We (myself and 7 others) painted E Allen wooducks. I have some detailing left to finish up, but considering I had never painted a duck before, and I did this in one day, I am mightly pleased with the results.

Nice Job Chuck,
I will have Lou send you six more to try getting it just right on. Send the bad ones to me so I can give the orphans a safe home.
Glad you got to go. Did you guys work with the Jansens paint? It looks like mostly brush work, was any airbrushing done? Wish I lived closer, must have been a good bunch to work with.

Thanks for the complements, I had a great teacher.

Bob, we were using Jansens paint, and brushes only, no airbrush, although Willy mentioned some of the effects we did are actually much easier to achieve with an airbrush. Willy does a great job of simplifing things for a beginner.

The biggest thing I see at this point is I need some more practice and a lot less caffine to steady my hand.

Chuck
