Help to adapt

I'm 37 hunting almost always solo. At the end of last season I injured my back, disc in my lower back all messed up. Just had second surgery... my question to the group is there a way to pull up my outboard without breaking my back? I generally set the decoys and power towards shore then lift and cut motor nosing into shallow spot or jammed into phragmites. I use same process for getting onto primitive ramps at end of hunt.

Probably the most expensive way to solve your problem but Bobs Machine Shop sells a add on power trim & tilt unit for small outboards up to 30HP. Also allows you to manually adjust motor height for optimum performance . The battery operated power trim & tilt would definitely save your back.

I think Roy is spot on if you have the budget for a hydraulic lift mount power tilt trim for your motor. I had one on my 60hp and it was very useful and a true back saver.

I know they are spendy, but so are trips to the hospital and getting sidelined with a disc issue all season has a terribly high price in the long run.

Hope you can get some relief. It is no fun hurting.
