I may just have to get one of these little cuties. I really like my Ringneck in 20 ga.

CZ Ringneck .410 on a correct size frame for one!

You can tell by the open action and the size of the chambers that the frame is small in size. A sweety. It's got the "Prince of Wakes" grip & case hardened finished just the way you like'em.

Single trigger too...Never saw one up close. I bet it would almost fly out of my hands when a ringneck busts out from under foot. Get one so I can borrow it when I come out to see you.

get a 28 ga. so at least it will be useful. Instead of just making noise. 410 shells are balistically very poor.

one of my all time favorite shotguns was my Reminton 870 in 3" .410 and I shot over 2,500 rounds with it on one hunting trip to Los Mochis in 1973. Of course that hunt was a month long and I also shot 3,000 rounds of 12 ga. on that hunt The .410 was great on whitewings, quail and teal in Mexico. What is nice about a lighter ga. on a hunt like that is it lets you rest your shoulder from the beating a 12 ga. can give you on a high cartridge count hunt. I would shoot my .410 every 2nd. or 3rd. day to give the old bones a break.

I would eventually like to have these CZ Ringnecks in 16, 28 & .410 I have one in 20 ga. and love it. For the money ($799.00) they are hard to beat for what you get. CZ also makes their Bobwhite model with the straight English style stock which is only $579.00.

On my Mexico hunts over the years, I have noticed no more crippled birds with my .410 than with my 12. With a .410 you have to take the shots that ga. was made for....in close and fast whingshooting. They are a fun gun to shoot, especially if they are made on a small frame gun. Most are made on the .28 ga. frames and that works out pretty well. I see where James Purdey has recently come out with their new REAL small freme double for the .410 shooters. Purdey has alos announced they are now making their old hammer doubles again. They were last made in the 1920's. Old hammer double are big surge in popularity......what was old is now NEW AGAIN!

My problem the birds wouldn't know I had a shorter range. they are very rude around here and like to fly a bit farther out. I knew a guy that used a 410 on grouse, it just made them mad.

I have had my eye on a 28 CZ. The one I have seen had double triggers and costs $8-900. I think the two triggers wouldn't be a good gun for my son to learn on though.

I shoot quail with all three small guages and find nothing lacking when I use the .410.
I have chamber mate tubes in my 20 ga SxS Bernadelli and shoot 21/2" 81/2s.On the flush, most first shots are under 10 yds
and 2nd if needed at 15yds.You can still destroy the meat if you center them.It is a joy to shoot all day,as Dave said.

I grew up using my 22/410 Savage on pheasant so I didn't know it was a sub standard shotgun..jeesh...I could have killed those birds deader and didn't have a clue! I agree, it's not an "all around" guage or caliber but it's just FUN. I eat what I shoot and find nice white breast much more appetizing than bloodshot hamburger. I love my 28 but haven't noticed it much more deadly than my 410 on farm birds (which are about all we have anymore). If I were heading to Iowa or S.Dakota for REAL pheasants in open country, I'd take one of my 12 ga guns and let them "get out there a bit". Nothing pisses me off more than someone "grinding" a bird...what a waste.

Dave, I've had the 20 ga CZ Ringneck for two years and am deadly with it on doves - early and late season birds. That little gun just fits me and it is truly amazing.

I think they are a great value with fit and finish that should cost twice as much. When I bought mine, they had the 28 and 20 gauge guns. It was a tough choice! If I shot more quail I would have favored the 28. But most of my upland hunting in NC is on mourning doves the two weeks following Labor Day.

Good choice!

What length barrels are on your 20?

I got my 20 ga. Ringneck in a trade along with a 20 ga. old model (blue) Ruger Red Labe. My Ringneck has 30" barrels and I have yet to see a 20 ga. offered with anything longer than 28". It may have been a special order gun. I want to see their Bobwhite models too to see how they feel, You are right, the Ringneck fits me very good for a factory gun with standard drop and length. I understand your choice of the 20 ga., doves can be tough at times unless you have hundreds coming over you and you can oiick your shots, like in Mexico.

30" !! I didn't think anybody made anything over 28" any more. My old 870 is 30"...just like my Dad's 58 sportsman and my 1100 mag. If I could, all my shotguns would be 30".
