I can't BEAR it!

Last week we had a break in the rain/wind storms so I decided to set the Trail Cam on the bear trail up the canyon behind the house. I set it on the edge of the trail to see if I could get a good picture of what was coming by.

It's a nice camera but the slack time between being triggerd by movement and the actual taking of a photo sucks. As you can see in the upper photo, the bear had already walked past teh camera by the time it took the photo.

But the flash must have got his attention, because in the bottom photo he had stood up on his hind feet and looked right into the camera as he moved the camera slightly with his paw!

I think I'd better mount the camera a LITTLE HIGHER next time........YIKES!

Don't worry Dave.........I don't plan on doing any "Bare-Footin, Bare-Footin" with any of the bears around here.....most of them are too big to mess with.

How's them back straps tasting 'bout now? By having freezing weather earlier and being able to hang that 3x3 I got for 10 days.....the meat is so tender you can cut it with a butter knife. I have made two big pots of venison chile in the past couple weeks and it was really good. Infact we are having backstraps, homemade biscuits 'n gravy for dinner tonight.

The only problem I have with the local deer is.......they don't weight 2,000 pounds.

Keep warm,

Dave
