Interesting Ohio DNR links

Here a few links to the Ohio DNR that are interesting. The first is to their Falcon Cam. These cameras are on a peregrine falcon nest on the side of one of the taller buildings in Columbus, OH. They have done this for a number of years and you can sometimes catch the adults feeding their young.

This next link is to the travels of a satellite tracking of a ospery that has nested at Alum Creek lake just north of Columbus, Ohio the past couple of years. They track the migration south and back north. He is on his way back to Ohio now. They had tagged the pair but last year the female died in Colombia. They think she may have been killed by a fish farmer.

They have done the same thing with some Black Ducks near Lake Erie. So far they haven't travelled very far. Maybe they will head to their nesting grounds soon.

Thanks for the links. I was watching that falcon, caught some critter and had in its talens.

I thought I'd bump this up. The black ducks are on the move, all the way across Lake Erie!! The peregrine is incubating 4 eggs.
