Huntin Dave,
How's your local river level, been hearing some reports about localized flooding in northern Iowa. Were expecting to hit "moderate" flood levels in the LaCrosse area this week.

The local rivers here will do the same, moderate flooding. The Shell Rock river which flows thru town peaked this morning with water over just the usual low spots in the roads. The dry run is full and very minor flooding (leaking) into some riverside homes.

Downstream will be worse ( still not near record levels) because several rivers and 3 watersheds combine just before reaching the Cedar Falls/ Waterloo area.

North West corner of Iowa has been hit the hardest so far. Many homes and businesses affected. Some roads washed out and possibly a railroad bridge. All that water will be traveling down the Des Moines River where it will encounter Saylorville Lake at Des Moines Iowa. This is a flood control reservoir and the current pool level, is expected to rise by 40 feet at the peak of the inflow.
